Photographer's Note

Tombs of the Kings (Royal tombs) is a necropolis in Paphos, an important remnant of the ancient world, it is a UNESCO world heritage site. More than 100 underground graves carved in the rocks were found at the cemetery, now partly covered with sand dunes.
The necropolis was built during the Hellenistic period (3rd century BC), in this place were buried the higher administrative officials, outstanding personality and nobility of the ancient Paphos.
The name "royal graves" was inspired by the sheer grandeur and majesty of the tombs.

The main photo shows a wider view of the necropolis, in WS two photos of different graves.

Hello Ryszard,
While both WS give us closer and more detailed views of some of the graves, this is the obvious choice for main photo. It combines ancient tombs, the modern city, quite a few visitors (including one dressed in red) and a beautiful sky. It's an appealing view with excellent light and colours.

Hello Ryszard,
You had a great vantage point to overlook the archeological site in the foreground with some people visiting the place. The modern town makes a nice contrast in the backdrop as well.

Hi Ryszard,3 beautiful pics showing this necropolis of Paphos. The most interestings are the 2 WS,especially the closer view of one of the most preserved tombs,while the main pic seems a view on the modrn houses and hotels. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Ryszard, that necropolis consists in low walls and ruins on the coastline. The archeological site was spared from the urbanization and the development of Paphos. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

cześć Ryszard, Ja była na drugim końcu Cypru, za daleko na jednodniowa wycieczkę do Paphos. Ciekawy widok starożytnych ruin blisko białego miasta.
