Photographer's Note

The Isle of May is situated in the Firth of Forth, about 6 miles off the Fife coast. It can most easily be reached by the 'May Princess' which sails from Anstruther most days between April and September, weather permitting. No people live here on a permanent basis, other than the wardens who look after the Nature Reserve. But the island is home to around 200 000 seabirds, some of whom you can see in the photograph.
