Photographer's Note

At our local village (Duxford, UK) airshow numerous aircraft put on displays. One of the most surprisingly fascinating is that of the "wing-walkers".

These are people who stand in the middle of the top wing of bi-planes as the planes perform various dramatic manoeuvres (well, they don't stand freely - they are very firmly fixed to the wing).

The bi-planes in question at Duxford are sponsored by the company Utterly Butterly, that make butter, and possibly explains their yellow colour.

I have posted some formation and aerobatic shots of their display previously. In this shot though I have managed to capture them as they start their smoke trails.

I'm delighted with the colours here and the fact you get the feeling that this is the very start of their display. What do you think?
