Photographer's Note

Advertising is present in many forms all over the world. Its intention, through artwork, design and placement, being to catch our attention and in a fleeting moment, leave an impression which it is hoped will direct and influence a future decision in favour of its subject.

This dilapidated advertising hoarding or billboard certainly grabbed my attention as I drove past it in West London and it certainly left an impression on me but not the one originally intended.

By accident or design, it had lost its original marketing message and purpose. Its remnants now drew the passing world's attention, or at least mine, to an altogether more interesting and completely unique image which it now fleetingly presented before making way for a new advertising campaign.

Always have a camera with you!
