Photographer's Note
Another view from Tynemouth Priory, set in an almost impregnable position on a steep headland between the river and the North Sea, Tynemouth has always been as much a fortress as a religious site.
Here stood a 7th-century Anglian monastery, burial place of Oswin, sainted king of Northumbria. After its destruction by Danish raiders, the present Benedictine priory was refounded on its site in c. 1090.

Fara:
Maybe I'm being too critical but all too often I see photos on TE that are shot through arches or window creating a great frame but the scene being framed lacks interest. Here, you have a good subject framed by the arch (and even an arch within an arch) but unfortunately that's where the good things about this photo end. Your photo looks too green, it needs contrast, and it needs straightened. This scene is loaded with potential. If I find enough time I'll try to do a workshop.

hi fara,, i can not agree with fotoguy about the use of the arch as framing, i love to see anything framed with something natural not only have you framed the ruins in the arch but also what looks like a monument in the second arch tfs

Hi Fara
These "peep through" pictures are amongst my favourites particularly with such a romantic view behind!
Well seen.
