Photographer's Note

This is the so-called "peace line", the many kilometres long wall that separates the unionist area of Shankhill Road from the republican area of Falls Road, in western belfast. There are only a few doors in the wall, open only during the day. Note the protections and grates on the backyards of the houses along the wall.

Since the good friday agreement tensions have lowered but, quoting a local "is too early" to bring down the wall, which is only one (but by far the longest and most famous) of many in the city
