Cairn Toul, Angel's Peak and Braerach: Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

see my latest travelogue for more images

This shows the largest upland landmass in the UK.
The height here is around 4000ft (1200+ metres) which is considerable higher than any other landmass in the UK. It is relatively remote from public access; the nearest road is around 5 hours walk away.
The weather here is notoriously fickle - and I had one eye permenantly on the clouds. It's mid May, it snowed, hailed and rained. Fortunately the wind was light.

The heavy cloud and occasional bright spells of sunshine gave some interesting lighting conditions here in the Cairngorms national Park. I had to be quick to capture the fleeting good lighting.

I hope you like it.
