Photographer's Note

The big rotunda in this photo houses Manchester Central Library. Even though I have visited Manchester many times, this is actually the first time I have really seen this library because it was always covered with scaffolding.
Starbucks is selling this series of mugs featuring local tourist attractions. I have a number of them. The mug from Manchester had exactly the Manchester Central Library on it. I suppose this may be one of the locally recognisable structures of the city.
April 12th was a day when England loosened up the social distancing restrictions and the streets of Manchester were flooded with people. Market Street which is full of shops was difficult to pass. Queues to enter some shops were extremely long sometimes circling around the building. Interestingly there were no queues to the library. Is it a sign of times?
