Photographer's Note

The Dartmouth Higher Ferry, also known as the Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge, a vehicular cable ferry which crosses the River Dart.

It is one of three ferries that cross the tidal river from Dartmouth to Kingswear.

A toll is charged.

The ferry uses cables for propulsion as well as guidance.
It is also provided with four thrusters, one positioned at each corner, in order to provide additional manoeuvrability when operating in strong winds and tidal conditions.

I took this shot from the Dartmouth side of the river. We are looking out towards the sea.
You can see the outline of Dartmouth Castle on the very edge of the land on the right hand side.

Thank you for looking.
