Photographer's Note
Charlestown Harbour is a Georgian Grade II listed harbour. There are often tall ships moored here.
The harbour consists of an inner non-tidal wet dock and an outer harbour protected by a breakwater.
It is a unique place to visit.
Many TV programmes and films have used Charlestown for their sets.
One more view in the w/s. I may post some more views in the days to come.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Jean,
It's a nice view, and the couple sitting on a bench are probably enjoying an equally nice view in this direction. Maybe they were discussing whet kind of photos "that lady over there" was taking. I like the diagonal lines of the two staircases, but the steps to the left look very worn and most likely slippery. The WS view is also nice, and the light is actually warmer in that direction.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
The old harbour looks beautiful and you present it here in a very good and attractive composition, which is well-balanced. The white houses and cliffs make a nice backdrop as well and the light was pleasing and soft.

Hi Jean
A timeless capture with wonderful bygone charm, good detail and appeal. The blue water lends a splendid colour breaker to finish it off. Fine shot, Congrats

Hi Jean
A good one of yet another coastal town in Cornwall (but then Cornwall is very much about the coast!). An interesting old listed port and in the large view you can clearly see the couple sitting there enjoying the view.
cheers

Hello Jean,
This is a pretty, little harbour, which does have a timelessness about it. No wonder it is a 'Listed' site.
Surprisingly, there aren't many photographs from this attractive location!
I like how you have used the diagonals of the steps, seeming almost to link, though one set is much further back than the others!
You have captured lovely textural details, from the f/g of stones, right into the b/g where another wall supports the land in front of the white, Georgian house.
The colours are limited to the boxes but they are strongly placed and incidentally, draw attention to the circular building.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean
this reminds me so much of my time spent growing up in Newfoundland, it just has that look and feel to it. rustic places, rustic landscapes, nothing fake, real people too, if you know what I mean. I like this place.
cheers

Hello Jean,
The water looks much cleaner and greener than the grey North Sea. Good sharpness color and textural details in the old stone retaining walls and ramps. Tfs!

jean
a curious aspect of this walls of rock protecting the small boats as inside a labyrinth. I can imagine a storm and the protection they get.
take care
