Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Lockdown has meant more photographing from my own area.

In my last post from the village where I live, I showed an old weaver's cottage. This time, I am showing you cottages which were built either for mill workers or farm workers.

They are early 19th century cottages.

There were several mills in Trawden, part of the Industrial Revolution and Lancashire's cotton industry, and mills needed lots of workers.
There were also, lots of farms, which were labour intensive, too.
Hence the need for lots of housing.

These old cottages have all been modernised and now provide excellent, period accommodation.

You may find the workshop photograph and story interesting, too.

Thank you for stopping by, Bev :-)
