Photographer's Note

here's a typical tourist picture from Liverpool
& still celebrating 50 years of The White Album...

MATTHEW STREET in Liverpool is ground zero for Beatles fans. This is where the famous Cavern Club was and where the four lads went for a drink before and after the gig.

These days Matthew Street is home to a yearly Beatles fest and several Beatle-themed bars and clubs, including a new Cavern Club. The original one was demolished in 1973, but the new one is similar in many ways and still worth a visit, especially if there's a proper band playing.

THIS PICTURE shows the statue of John Lennon in Matthew Street. There's also an older "four lads who shook the world" sign a bit further up the road.

I'm taking a Paul song as song title reference here, a matter of balance.

song title reference: The Beatles
