Photographer's Note

In this region there is a very ancient tradition to put white silhouettes made of chalk in the slopes of hills, I saw this one while inside the train. Locals said it was first produced to celebrate the victory of king Alfred, the Great against the Danes in 878, but scholars are sure it was made at 18th century only.
Image took inside a train in movement. I lost about two hours closed inside it after a tree falls in the rail.
