The front door to Penrhyn Castle, and I just loved the door knocker!
Made from wood, as is the door, I thought that the wood carving was wonderful.
Unsure as to how old this particular feature is; the present building was created between 1822 and 1837 to designs by Thomas Hopper, who expanded and transformed the building,so I guess that this door may date from then.

Taken in colour, but almost monochrome.

Another shot in the workshop, from the interior, that shows the elaborate decoration that was consistent inside.
