Photographer's Note

Yes, just in case anybody doesn't know, girls are different from boys and ladies are different from men.

But the difference between the sexes is perhaps most apparent if you visit a Veteran and Vintage Car Rally.

Here grown men are like little boys with their toys, talking endlessly about engines, crankshafts and pistons, every man telling his companions how wonderful he had been in resurrecting yet another pile of decaying machinery to run with all the sweetness of a sewing machine.

Female companions, on the other hand, appear less impressed, usually trying to counteract sheer boredom by reading, eating, drinking tea - or just staring into space.

Another quick picture from this year's Veteran and Vintage Car Rally at Biggar - in which I also participated - though my wife chose to stay at home!

ISO 400, 1/160 sec at f/8, focal length 45mm.

Because Gert (holmertz) thought that these old cars looked quite attractive, I have added a workshop image of the car on the left - you can see it here or here.
