Photographer's Note

The little clump of trees are Cookworthy Knapp,a well known local landmark.

Below is a brief extract from a local artist`s web page:

Coming Home or Cookworthy Knapp.

This small copse of trees can found on the A30 just before the Devon/Cornwall border near Lifton. For me it has always meant 'Coming Home'. As I was growing up it was 30 minutes from home, now I regularly run past the copse on one of my early morning jogs near the village of Lifton. It is such an iconic view for so many people, locals and holiday makers alike. The copse is known by many different names by people living in and visiting the area. 'Cornwall Beyond, Grandma's Trees, Nearly Home' and The Unicorns Wood are a few I've heard of recently .
