Photographer's Note

Sometimes it requires someone who lives far away to point out to you the treasures that lie so very close to where you live yourself. And so it was in the case of the Dawyck Botanic Garden which lies at Stobo, near Peebles, and only about 20 miles from our home.

Our TE friend, Bev Robinson (Royaldevon), reminded me of this place when I met her last week and she uploaded her delightful photograph from here a few days ago. And so, Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson! - thank you for reminding me of this delightful place which I had heard of but never visited until I went there and took this one just two days ago.

Dawyck Garden, an outpost of the Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh, is lovely and although it was getting later in the afternoon, I sat here a while and puffed my pipe, admiring the colours and the sunshine as it struck the top of a tall silver birch, and breathed in the ambience of the place.
