Photographer's Note

This building has a long, long, history, and we are not really sure exactly when it was built, but about 1200 is reasonable calculation...

For years it was inhabited by nuns, who were utterly destitute; so the King had to excemt them from tax, among several action taken by state to help out.

King Charles 1 on his ascape from beheading, concealed himself here one night, and the day after he hid in the top of the trees, and the soldiers did not see him; what later happened to him we all know now from history book.

I lived here before the place was sold in 2004, and now is turned into a hotel; it was a smashing farming place before with all kind of animals and birds roaming the fields....

And it is haunted; some say it is by the beheaded king...other say it is by the nuns...

I don't know, but what we all know, is that when lights have been switch off at nights, and is on in the morning; somebody had turned that switch during the course of the night.

In effect; it was a really beautyful place....

Several of my songs, I composed here; using the grand piano in the huge lounge; great inspiration
