South Gare,Tees Mouth.
Took this shot last year but only now getting round to my old files.South Gare was built from waste slag during the industrial revolution to increase the depth at the mouth of the tees for larger shipping .Tees side played a pivotal role in its rapid growth in engineering excellence which included mining ,iron smelting,ship building ,bridge building and also the development of the railways.Today with most of her heavy industries gone all we have are the faded ghosts of her proud part in Britain's rapid rise as a leading industrial nation..P.S Corus Redcar aka British steel if it closes is the final link with this her proud past.............
