Photographer's Note

My recent trip around South Wales had to include a visit to Mumbles Head, a place I last saw 40 years ago.

This was the beach where I had to carry out fieldwork on the distribution of the populations of dogwhelks periwinkles and barnacles for a biology course, and the inter-relationships that one might draw from the study.

Hmmmn, a long time ago and I cant recall all the conclusions, but I remember working on the beach well enough, and the hit song of the time, Don Maclean and American Pie.

There was a hint of a rainbow on the day, it can just be seen touching the middle hill on the headland.
