Mountain Stream, a photo from Powys, Wales

Photographer's Note

One of the many mountain streams that descend the slopes of the Brecon Beacons in Wales. I wanted to capture a long exposure on the water on what was a very bright day. I used my polariser to help with exposure time and set an nd grad 9 diagonally along the line of the bank to balance the distant mountain and sky. I then waited until the sun had gone behind a cloud and took the shot.

What a lovely shot, showing such depth of field and such detail within the water. Well worth the long period in setting up...I'm doubtful however that you had too long to wait before losing the sun, in Wales...

HI Gerwyn, wonderful shot. Long time of exposition halp you to do fantastic trick with water. I tried this but unfortunatly no result. Nice coloures and god POV.

Good use of the grad filter Gerwyn, well balanced composition and 1st class exposure makes this image, very informative note,thanks, excellent work.

This landscape has all the right elements to make for a great image Gerwyn. A clever use of the natural rocks for the lead-through lines. And the water movement is just great.

Nice shot Gerwyn, the POV is very original - most would have taken the shot straight on or at a much smaller angle to the water. Well though out.
