Beach Huts, a photo from Gwynedd, Wales

Photographer's Note

Beach huts on Llanbedrog beach in North Wales on a cloudy day. The colours of the huts were perfect for the photo from this point of view.

I spent every summer when I was a child on this beach, when the huts were old and tatty. Now they have improved the beach with new huts, and the beach even has a little resturant where we used to buy ice creams. It's a perfect place for small children as the beach is sheltered by a large headland so large waves are very rare.

Hi, Russell, great shot, I saw this kind of huts in the TV before, I always thought they look wonderful as they always have lots of different colour on each and everyone, it make the beach look so colourful. I like your shot, nice colour and good composition. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Russell. This is a delightful and appealing photo, with a good use of repetition from the shapes of the beach huts, and also extremely colorful. In addition to the sheer geometrical shapes, the repetitive element is of course also present in the details such as the locks, the wall patterns, and the numbering. Well cropped, a very nice presentation.

So that's what they look like close up! I have a telephoto shot of these from the hillside where the iron statue is - wider but not as sharp as yours. I'll try and post it for comparison.
This is a lovely, sharp, picture and the choice of the two red chalets either side balances the photo perfectly.

Very nice Russell, I always enjoy graphi_c lines combined with bright colors. I would certainly try many angles if I were there.

Russel, j'ai découvert cette photo dans ta présentation et je la trouve très à mon goût. Le cadrage très serré, les couleurs éclatantes et la lumière en font une oeuvre des plus intéressantes.
