Photographer's Note

This winter has (so far) been exceedingly mild in Scotland and quite different from last year when we were struck by heavy snows and frosts even before Christmas.

This was shot in early December, 2010 when the temperature in Lanark was minus 12°C and the recent snowfall had made travel by car very difficult with several major roads blocked. The clear air and bright sunshine, however, made up for it all - far better than the dull, dark, wet and windy days we have been having this year.

Shot in RAW using a polarising filter and converted and edited in PSE6.
