Photographer's Note

After my previous post, I thought I would show what the weather and location were really like on the day I took the B&W shot of the cliffs.

Shetland can be a glorious place in summer with light that barely fades at night and air so clear you can see for miles. It's amazing what impression a photo can give of a place, depending on the point of view.

Taken at the same location, this shot is looking back to the sand spit (tombolo) that links the isle of St Ninian to the mainland.

Glorious, clear aquamarine water, white sands and blue skies. All at 60 north of the equator.
