Photographer's Note

Nothing particularly special about this photograph but I was attracted by this pretty little parish church which sits in the lovely village of St. Fillans on the north side of Loch Earn in Perthshire.

This is not a particularly old church, only having been built in 1878 to cope with the then increasing population of the village. Nowadays, however, as attendance at churches has declined, the church shares a minister with the nearby congregation at Comrie.

According to legend, there have been places of worship in this area since the sixth century when Faolan, an Irish missionary, attempted to spread the Gospel amongst the native Picts from his fort on nearby Dundurn Hill.

ISO 100, 1/200 sec at f/10, focal length 24mm.
