Photographer's Note
Early morning at the Quiraing on the Trotternish Peninsula, Isle of Skye. The weather was terrible the day before and a couple of hours after I took this shot the heaven's opened again for the rest of the day.
I used a heavy ND hard grad for this shot. It was quite tricky as the light was changing constantly. I took a few shots after this but the sun was too far out from behind the cloud and ruined them.
Skye has an amazing landscape that I certainly intend to go back to, hopefully with some better weather!

Hi Douglas,
This is a fabulous shot, with great front to back sharpness and detail. It's a difficult exposure to get right, and I think you've got it spot on, from the cloud covered edge on the left to those brilliant highlighted greens on the right.
Well done and TFS,
Cheers
Simon

hey Douglas
It's really Skye, with the cloudy (and windy) sky, green fields, loch.. Good overall sharpness.
Thank you for sharing

remark: not sure to have good weather, and under a blue sky, it's not Skye....

Hi Douglas.
You captured this incredible landscape superbly in this shot. The shadows amidst the sunshine on the steep slopes, the faint rays of the sun on the left, and the wonderful green and plum/pinkish tones in the sky make this a wonder to behold. And of course the view downwards on to the lake. The ND did a good job, but one can see that any more sunlight and even the filter would not be able to preserve enough detail in the sky. Superb work, and brings back memories of a couple of visits to the island in the dim past.
Regards,
Andrew
