Photographer's Note
Glasgow has a lot of impressive older buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries - back then it was a very important city, regarded as the Second City of the British Empire and this is reflected in a lot of its architecture. Glasgow's most famous architect is undoubtedly Charles Rennie Mackintosh - also famous as an artist and designer - and a lot of tourists visit Glasgow specifically to see his work. He's kind of Scotland's Gaudi althoug his buildings are maybe subtler and less exuberant. To be honest if you live in Glasgow you can get a bit sick of all the Macintosh related souvenirs and postcards but his buildings are still pretty impressive!
This is a detail from his most famous building - Glasgow School of Art - which is still one of Britain's top Art Schools.
I took the photo last year in December in the afternoon because I wanted a time of day when it was lit from the side. At that time of year the light is very warm and soft. I used a wide-angle (28mm) to try and emphasise the arch in the foreground.

Although I like the angle you chose, your pic makes me wish to see more of this building ! The warm colors of the bricks perfectly fit with the windows.
Once again, will post another view of this school ?

This is a very stunning building, Macintosh was a very talented architect. This building, although built 100 years ago has numerous modern themes, especially the treatment of window casing and frames. I like the mixture of the arching slope above the door and the interplay of rounded and square shapes. Many famous artists have had their training at the Glasgow school of art some of these teach visual arts in Australia. I like your perspective and hope you will be posting more images of this building. The building looks very warm and inviting.
