Photographer's Note

The Scottish kite population was totally decimated and a re-population program was started. The only kite left in the UK were in Wales but the population there was still in recovery and would not be able to support the Scottish program. It was decided that birds from Germany would be used.
The current Scottish population now stands at approx. 400 birds. Dumfries and Galloway has a kite feeding station where wild kites are fed every day at 14.00, this assists the wild population.
On the day i visited there were approx 100 birds turned up for dinner and for a bird fanatic like myself i enjoyed every minute they graced us with there presents.
