Lagoon, bridge and tower, a photo from Angus, Scotland

Photographer's Note

Montrose- small coastal town in Angus. Town has got natural lagoon- Montrose Basin. It is the largest inland salt water basin in the UK, and and an important habitat for the mute swan. The picture been taken from hill near Basin; harbour,sea would be on the right.

Montrose South Esk Viaduct- The present bridge was opened to traffic in 1881 and carries a single-track section of the line Aberdeen-Dundee and relpace an earlier structure designed by Sir Thomas Bouch, which was demolished in December 1880.

Tower- Old and St Andrew's Church - The present building dates from 1791 with its magnificent steeple designed by James Gillespie Graham, dating from 1834. Formerly known as Montrose Old Church it was recently united with St Andrew's Church to become Old and St Andrew's Church, Montrose, a Church of Scotland.

The elegant church tower and the brige are very attractive elements , in this blue composition . Like the little touches of red , too .

Beautiful landscape with fine sharpness and definition, but bokeh of trees in the foreground is not so beautiful. The church is expertly put in the good place in line with the rule of thirds.

Czesc Bartek,
bardzo przyjemna panorama szkockiego miasteczka. Ta wieza jest wyjatkowa i dodaje charakteru.
Piekna kompozycja z lodkami. Ostrosc zreszta pozwala dostrzec mnostwo innych cielawych elementow.

its a shame that this photo has not gained more attention for you...its a beauty!
the church tends to steal the show, but there are so many other beautiful elements too.
love the sporadic colorful boats, the long perspective lines of the pier (or bridge), and you also have a cityscape view
