Photographer's Note
It was a very clear and mild night so I drove to Avebury with a friend for a drink in the pub shown. Unfortunately i didn't have a tripod with me, but managed to find some fence posts. I have just got a new camera and have never tried this light effect before so just gave it a go. There weren't too many cars travelling through, but I pressed go when i heard one coming and hoped that it drove all the way around the s bend. I think that the pub is a bit glarey now, but I didn't know how to tone it down.

Very nice speed effect Russel ! A classical subject but very well composed. Well done !

I know this bend well...having driven around it in a Moris Minor 1000 with the handbrake on and wondering why the wheels were squealing even though I was only doing 20mph (such are the joys of just passing your driving test).
I like the composition of the light trails in this image, the colours are good too. If you want to tone down the pub at the back then take a second image of the pub (under-exposed one or two stops) then blend it into the original image to get the desired effect - you will find that successful night time photography is based upon multiple exposures and blending (perhaps more so than day time photography).
