Photographer's Note

Brighton is well know for the starlings that form a 'murmuration' as dusk approaches and they flock together near their roost sites. They arrive in the UK in winter to join the native ones. Although they have been declining in numbers recently as may as 40,000 can be seen in December. They fly around for a while in formation making the most incredible shapes in the sky.
The poor old West Pier is seen in the distance that since the fire many years ago continues to fall into the sea.
The high ISO setting has made the photo a little grainy.
