Photographer's Note
A carpet of bluebells leads you irresistibly through the gap in the tall pine trees in Calcot Wood near Ashurst in West Sussex, England.

Hello Brian,
Good idea, the bookmark frame for this subject and this shot. It is especially working with those blue flowers at bottom giving a real add to the view.

Hello Brian,
I will never tire of scenes like this!
Bluebells are the true sign that spring is here.
A very well composed shot where the gap drives the viewer from the bluebells into the b/g, ensuring an appreciation of the whole scene.
Have a great Sunday,
Bev :-)

Hello Brian,
The bookmark format was an excellent choice here. Love the colours and the light, especially as it plays over the tree trunks. An image to delight the senses and which makes you want to step in! Have a pleasant Sunday afternoon, enjoy the Bank Holiday.

Hello Brian,
Nice vertical framing in the middle of forest. The sensation of height is strentghened by the trees. It wouldn't have been so beautiful without the flowers caprte.
Best regards,
Delphine

Hi Brian,
The tall thin shape of this frame is great, it really emphasizes the height of the trees, and draws the eye deep into the shot. It's a nice natural Sasquatch passage through the woods. The colors f the bluebells are great, as always, but even finer when combined with the excellent tones of the wood. Really great depth too.
All the best

Hello Brian,
Great use of the tall trees. Without their lower branches they make a graphic woodland image that is beautifully underlined by the carpet of bluebells. Lovely colours and clever vertical format.
Excellent.

Ciao dear Brian
Oooooh ahhhhh! This is a cracker, but you must have known it as soon as you saw it on the viewfinder. I love the rich red/brown tones of the tree trunks and how they contrast with those greens and blues. This is such an English scene, it should be your country's flag instead of that Butcher's Apron! ;). Love it, love everything about it. Congrats.
Cheers

Hi Brian,
What a picturesque scene, it would make a nice subject for a painting too. I like the contrast between the purple carpet and the rest of the scene. Good choice of vertical format to give us a great sense of the super height of those trees.

BeeDee,
Stop posting so fast, I can't get caught up! ha So here you are, walking around with your blue bells out again I see. ;) They need fresh air too, so it's good for ya'. Your title has my mind playing a loop of the London metro announcement of "Mind the gap" with each stop...or maybe I really am hearing voices!?
The bookmark cut works perfectly to elongate the already stretched vertical visual, or "s.v.v." to simplify things if your into abbreviations and such. This composition and subject has a hint at the Redwoods in California, very similar look and feel. Another beauty shot of this enchanted location. If I can't make my way out of the shopping trolley and snack aisle though, I might not make it through this gap in the trees...and with that, I'm off to the refrigerator to find a tasty treat. Have a good one amigo. Take it easy.
Cheers from Az.,
