Photographer's Note
I am so happy that I was able to visit several beautiful places during my recent trip to Poland. That is why recently I kept sharing my photos from that trip. However shortly after my return to the UK, there was a bank holiday weekend, and we were tempted to use this opportunity to possibly venture a little bit further from home than usual. You know that I am very weather sensitive. This is the main reason I usually give up on travel within the UK. When I lived for 5 years in Ireland, it happened to me a lot that I went to a wild and distant location and then it rained all the time, so I had to sit in the B&B all the time because there was absolutely nothing to do there. In the UK accommodation is so much more expensive and the landscapes quite similar to Irish so the risk of losing time and money is just too high for me. This time the forecast was promising so we decided to take the risk. The accommodation prices in the UK were crazy high this year and shortly before the bank holiday weekend it was hard to find anything cheaper than £600 for two nights. In the end I managed to find something cheaper near Bath which I always wanted to visit. More precisely near Bristol. My plan was to visit Bath, Bristol and possibly something around half of my driving way there, to give the driver (myself) a break.
We decided to stop on the way there at the Warwick Castle (in this photo). I will tell you more about this extraordinary place in next few uploads. Here a less popular angle on its old architecture. I would be so glad to mark with this photo a new county on my map of the photographed UK counties but of course TrekEarth maps don’t work anymore. At least I have it on my list.
Info about the castle from Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warwick_Castle):
Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from a wooden fort, originally built by William the Conqueror during 1068. Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, England, situated on a meander of the River Avon. The original wooden motte-and-bailey castle was rebuilt in stone during the 12th century. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th-century military architecture. It was used as a stronghold until the early 17th century, when it was granted to Sir Fulke Greville by James I in 1604. Greville converted it to a country house, and it was owned by the Greville family (who became Earls of Warwick in 1759) until 1978.

An excellent take from yet a high POV over the castle, Mariusz.
Beautiful roof-top's turrets, the old wall down the slope, and in contrast the green surrounding.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Mariusz, I do not know Warwick at all, so it is good to see this view of the castle.
It is a beautiful building, very well preserved.
The bright sunshine shows off the many facets of this castle.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Mariusz
Very nice picture of this magnificent castle. It seems to be well maintened too. It seems that someone could even get lost in there with so many rooms and floors.
Best regards

Ciao Mariusz, very expensive accommodation, so you were right to wait for the weather forecast before spending money on nothing. Great stop, this castle is really interesting, it follows the classic British style but it is really well preserved, it captures very bright, when the sun is out everything is easier! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
I have heard Warwick Castle is a really beautiful place to visit. Fantastic photo of the high walls and many small towers. The sunlight was excellent and added a nice play of shadows. The green around it all is also appealing.

Hello Mariusz,
I assume the price of accommodation you mention is for 3 people and 2 ensuite rooms, including a huge breakfast. Even then, a trip to the UK is a financial drain for many people.
Warwick Castle looks stunning with its many battlements and towers.
You had the opportunity to take this photo from a higher point of view.
You wrote that the castle is an example of 14th-century military architecture which brings me to the question whether the castle could not be attacked from this higher location.
Beautifully presented with a good light and with the diagonal line of the greenery in the foreground.
PS: There's an app for your smartphone where you can mark all visited countries in orange. Name: 'been'.

Hello Mariusz,
Well done you, for fitting in Warwick Castle on you way to Bath. Both are extremely interesting places but, I agree with you, unless you search carefully, prices are sky high, this year!
This is a great view compositionally, with the lime greens enlivening the f/g and making the castle look quite compact with its towers and turrets behind.
I know this is a large castle but appears almost homely in your photograph, with the well lit features and well maintained exterior.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Czesc Mariusz
:-) Kamienne mury swietnie komponuja sie z otaczajaca je zielenia.
Pozdrawiam z amsterdamskiego lotniska (w drodze do Maroka).

Hi Mariusz
Nice to see the Warwick Castle that our Warwick is named after, a small town of 15,000 up on the Darling Downs 477 metres above sea level and noticeable cooler and drier than Brisbane on the coast. Good sharpness and lighting. Tfs!

The shapes of this castle remind me something of windsor one, excellent angle, yes, rainy days during a trip can be very bad. Here I am suffering with the heat.in my homeland it is colder,

Hi Mariusz.
Wow ........ What an impressive castle, its size is enormous, it is like a whole citadel, a strong and severe architecture, to which the turrets and chimneys give a more palatial touch, magnificent POV than with the foreground The green and the wall makes us see the slope of the slope on which it rests.
Great light and color, with the good sharpness of the image we enjoy this great work.
Well done. I like it.
Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Lewis.

Hello Marius,
A pleasant photo of this ancient castle. I am sure it has been added to since its first construction. It looks well preserved for such an old structure.
Regards,
MT
