High Tide, a photo from Tyne and Wear, England

Photographer's Note

Another shot of the post which sit next door to St Marys lighthouse, im not sure of the functionality of theposts, i jsut know them make a very interesting subject when the lighting isnt great! Taken at high tide so the rocks on which the posts are located was covered only when a large wave came in leaving the rocks to show through underneath the sea. I was trying out a few new frame designs as a one off, and thought this suited the simple psots shot well..

Really nice image - very moody and atmospheric - like the almost misty quality caused by the movement of the waves at slow shutter speed. The composition is simple and uncluttered but extremely effective. Frame works really well.

A nice diagonal of verticals. A fine minimalism with a spooky flow of the water. I like the far band of lights as it brings in a context - there are human dwellings in this mystery place after all.

This is a superb shot, one of which you can be really proud. It is simple, but so evocative. The shades of this colour and the lighting are tremedous. The frame design works a treat. Excellent.

A very simple but very strong composition. Great effect with the waves on the rocks, and almost surreal colours. I thought the lights of Blyth in the background added a sense of depth, without them the picture just looks flat. I'm not a lover of frames, but this one is nice and plain, it actually compliments the photograph.

Nice shot but for me the lights spoil it a little. Try clonning them out and see what you think. I think it will give the shot more atmosphere.

Hi Nick, it is a very simple and effective composition. The lighting is subdued and soft which wuits this and I really like the long exposure of the water. Well done.
