Photographer's Note

This picture was taken a few hundred yards down river from the isolated cottage picture I posted earlier in the week. As you walk down the river bank and approach the estuary mouth and the hamlet of Felixstowe Ferry there are a variety of river craft moored on the river and its marshland inlets. Further away from the rivers end many of them have clearly been abandoned and look rather forlorn with their brightly colored peeling paint. There are examples of these on the left of the picture. Further down river there are occupied house boats that pay mooring fees. Some of these are linked to the river bank by rather precarious looking wooden walk ways as can be seen here. This image was taken two years or ago and while visiting again last week the inevitable changes made by people and nature can be easily seen. The large wooden hull on its side on the distant marsh is still there though and tomorrow I will post a detailed image of it taken last week.
