Photographer's Note
I continue trawling through my archives with a series of pictures from the small town of Aldeburgh in Suffolk, United Kingdom.
A moot hall is a meeting or assembly building, traditionally to decide local issues. The term date 'moot' dates from Anglo-Saxon times - a low ring-shaped earthwork served as a moot hill or moot mound, where the elders of the hundred would meet to take decisions.

Bonjour, cher Stephen,
Ces archives sont précieuses pour découvrir, apprendre.
Ici, l'intérêt porte sur cette architecture très particulière, notamment au niveau de la cheminée à double souche.
Très bon texte et belle présentation.
Amitiés.

Hello Stephen,
The building is quite beautiful, with the chimneys being the most artistically elegant details. I suppose local decision are not made by elders these days, but hopefully this fine building still serves an important purpose. "Bingo" wouldn't be important enough. It's a straightforward composition but the photo owes a lot to the wonderful light and sharpness.
Kind regards,
Gert

Witaj Stephen!
The clarinet or flute shaped duo of chimneys are unusual. Good warm cold color contrasts between the blue sky and the red brick facade of this local assembly building. Tfs!

Hi Stephen,
The subject is well framed. The point of view is showing a double perspective of the architecture of the Moot Hall. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Stephen,
Even the title takes us back in time! I haven't heard the word 'moot' for quite a while! I think the last time that it came to my lips was when I photographed a house called 'Moot Hall' in Derbyshire.
It would appear that this building has been begun in stone and later, completed or renovated, in brick.
It is not a common English feature to have the entrance on the first floor unless this was an old house needing to be protective. I know, in France many do have a first floor entrance, with a huge sous-sol, in older style houses.
You had fine light for this shot enabling you to capture the colours and details really well. Your angled shot works well, giving a good impression of size, just a pity that the edge of the troughing has been clipped.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Stephen,
J'aime beaucoup plus la texture de tes photos anglaises que celles que tu fais en Espagne ou en France. C'est une question de post production je crois. Beau cadrage serré où la maison entre juste dans le cadre.
Amicalement

Hi Stephen,
A beautifully detailed, angled shot of the Moot Hall. October on a day like this one is a good time to be on the Suffolk Coast as I'm sure you know. The days are so crisp and clear. Aldeburgh and it's surroundings provide us with many walks and cycle rides.
Kind Regards,
Richard

Hi Stephen
Intriguing title!
What a marvellous architecture and a meeting place! Tx to your explanation; the maintenance of this old timer I think, must has been perfect throughout the years. It stands vertically straight and very proud against the backdrop blue sky, bathed in warm angled light revealing lots of finer detail of it. I think you have captured at best time of day perhaps to avoid many mingling people. Great shot and tx for sharing
Best regards

When I saw the icon, I thought it was a locomotive with two chimneys.
A very interesting old building, very well captured

Ciao Stephen

Hello Stephen,
The colors, textures and the POV are splendid. I like the detail on the round part of the chimney. the light is pleasant, too. I wish you had not cropped out the tip of the upper left corner of the hall.
Regards,
MT
