Photographer's Note
I was attracted here by three things:
First is the 'wobbly water' - it just seems the viscosity of the water in the canal in this part of Nottingham with the right speed of breeze playing on it and in the right light produces really interesting reflections. walk one way down the canal and you see nothing, turn around and it is all happening behind you.........a small change in wind speed and everything breaks up like a shattered mirror, the light at the wrong angle and it doesn't happen.
Secondly, i was attracted by the pastel colours - unusual to see them on the canal here.
Thirdly, I was attracted by the reflections of the railings and the contrast they provide.
Not been around much in the last few days - the reason in part can be found in the workshop!!!

man, oh man - congrats, grandpa!!!!
(how does it sound, man?...;-))

you went abstract, my friend...no wonder why - you must have been really "twisted" lately...so the photo reflects your mood, i guess....:-))
best wishes (also to the parents...)

A good graphical photograph, the texture look like metal with very good colors and line.
A very good pov for a good graphical result, congratulation.

Hi Kev, the viscosity will be pollution if my memories of 'cuts' is anything to go by! You could almost walk across the one at the back of where I lived in the 1960's!
I love this image. Lots of detail about where it is and what it is - but you've used the natural surface to introduce a surreal and creative element. Brilliant.
Regards, Paul.

Hi Kev,
Those are railings?! You know what I thought it was? The nose of an old American car... The top could be the pastels of the car, the middle part the grille, and the lower part the chrome of the bumper. :-) Amazing what one can see in a reflection ;-).
Have a good sunday! Dennis
PS: Oh, how cute in the workshop! My congratulations to you, your wife and the parents!!

hello Kevin,
first of all, congratulations on your first grandchild; boy or girl? As a grrandmother of a year now I can say it is a wonderful state. To coin a cliche, all the fun and not much of the work. You will have to upload pictures in the coming years to TL.
As for your picture, I like this very much, it reminds me somewhat of those picture you drew and coloured as a child, the ones where you draw loops and swirls and then colour in the spaces between either in plain colours or with stripes and patterns.
congratulations on both counts,
Bev

Congratulations dear Kev! He is so beautiful. Now you can tell everyone that he got the looks from his grandpa! :) Now I hope you act as a proper grandpa and be the "terror" of the parents and the angel of the grandchild. Spoil him has much as you can!
Love your photo here. Everything is perfect. From the big twisted diagonal to the incredible colors, to the various graphical lines. Really great shot!

Dear Kev - Hi Grandpa! ;-)) Congratulations!
I hope the road will rise to meet him and that the wind will always be in his back... I love it that he's frowning like that. I wish him well. I hope you can grow up together ;-) It is so different being grandparent than being a parent..., enjoy it!
Beautiful photo to go with this message, Kev, although I think the message is WAY more important.
I hope your daughter and the family is well.
Be well, my friend.

Congrats on becoming a grandpa! I really like this shot - it's like an abstract painting or something I would imagine Picasso taking if he had a camera. I like the contrast of colours with white lines and shapes throughout. Rgds, Leilani
