Photographer's Note
Romantic 16th-century miniature castle transformed by Lutyens into an Edwardian country house.
Perched atop a rocky crag and accessible over a causeway at low tide only, the castle presents an exciting and alluring aspect. Originally a Tudor fort, it was converted into a private house in 1903 by the young Edwin Lutyens. The small rooms are full of intimate decoration and design, with windows looking down upon the charming walled garden planned by Gertrude Jekyll.

I like this perspective, the fence leading us higher, also the light and sharpness are god, nice shot, nice name of the castle (and a band) too !

Une vue très montante et cette superbe barrière qui nous accompagne bien loin, le dessus de la photo est un peu floue, de même que le ciel.

Very fine spiral up to top. You have good sunshine over it and so that shadows make obvious all forms. Nice brown - green tones also. Very pleasent view, Peter, I like. Ps. you have used that fence by clever way, so that perspective is even longer and it looks fine; watcher knows, from where to look at...

Beautiful composition. The perspective created is great, lead the eye along the fence into the castle.
Taking the same picture a few meters to the left would probably give a worthless picture!!
Well done!

Excellent composition. I like the way the fence leads our eyes into the shot and up to the castle. Colours are really good too from sky to foreground and the image is nice and sharp with good detail on the grassed areas and in the rocks. Lovely. Thanks Peter.

Hi Peter,
Beautful place !
I like here the fence leading into the photo, the castle sitting on its hill is impressive with this bottom up view (the portrait framing enhances this too), and the light striking it produces nice colors, all this combined with an excellent sharpness produces a very enjoyable landscape photo.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Bonjour Peter,
Excellente photographie de ce château qui possède un charme fou. Je remarque que le propriétaire n'a pas hissé pavillon !
Très belles couleurs et un rendu parfait.
J'aime beaucoup.
Very well done Peter.
Bien amicalement.
