Photographer's Note
I really enjoyed my trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed and there are almost no photos from this lovely town on TrekEarth, so I am going to share more pics from my trip here. I have showed previously a panoramic view of the town across the river Tweed along the old Berwick Bridge. This photo here is taken from a very similar point of view and in fact the red painted road is actually a road through the Berwick Bridge. It does look like a red carpet, doesn’t it? My other idea for the title here was “social distancing” because people seem to be walking the bridge in equal distances.
Red carpet is often rolled out for celebrities on special occasions. It made me think about the cinema situation these days. Film studios are delaying the screenings of their new movies, like newest James Bond movie. They “avoid the red carpet”. There is a competition between the movies, how much a movie will earn on the first weekend it is screened. Obviously with cinemas getting closed, at least in the UK, the losses for the film studios will be quite dramatic. But I suppose they can still afford it.

Hello Mariusz,
The red carpet on the bridge is the same colour as Dutch cycle lanes. It creates a very nice view into the composition and towards the town with the church prominently rising up over the mostly orange houses. The people add a nice touch of daily life.

Ouch...that same red blubbery colour we have over here too. Where I live, it means that it's a road where cyclists have priority. But not all car drivers know this. Sometimes I imagine it's blood...

Czesc Mariusz!
Bardzo ladny fragment miasta.
Czerwony "dywan" przez kamienny most prowadzi ku wiezy zegarowej.
Znakomita kompozycja i kadrowanie.
Kolorki zdecydowanie "Twoje" ;)
Osoby ozywiaja ten obraz.
Dobrej nocy.

Hello Mariusz,
The red road adds good linear perspective directing the eye towards the bg, as well as a nice warm cold colour contrast with the sky. Tfs!

A great undulating bridge. A fine photo of the bridge, social distancing people and the town beyond.

The red painted asphalt matchs the red roof-tiles of the houses across the bridge, mariusz.
Sunshine in abundance superbly brought out best of the fetails here.
Depth and clarity, and the picture is wonderfully enliven.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Bonjour, cher Mariusz,
Voilà une composition originale sachant valoriser le patrimoine architectural, la voie urbaine, la vie quotidienne et un sujet cinématographique.
Amitiés.

Hello Mariusz,
You have given us some excellent details of this previously, poorly recorded city. I must admit, with its emphasis on red roofs, it doesn't immediately look as if it's from the north of England.
You have chosen an excellent viewpoint, taking full advantage of the red road, over the bridge, with figures strongly positioned, and animating your photograph.
The church spire is very well positioned in the frame adding interest to the plain. blue sky.
The photograph is very well exposed. You must have been pleased with the outcome.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Mariusz, that street is tarmaced with a red building material like the athletic fields. It is dedicated to cars and cyclists. The church clock tower stands out in the background. The picture has an excellent depth, the passersby animate the scene. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Mariusz,
You chose a perfect angle with the road in red colour.
We get a wonderful panorama view about the city in background.
Pleasant depth and perspective too.
Nice sharp and clear photography.
Pleasant composition, TFS.

John.

Hello Mariusz,
Indeed, the road surface looks like a red carpet.
In addition, in this photo the red street leads us nicely to the beautiful town that has pleased you so much.
With the plain blue sky on top the photo shows a nice colour contrast with the road and the roofs.
The walkers all keep their distance from each other. It seems that only every few seconds someone is allowed to start the walk.
Best regards, Paul

mariusz
a marvelous view so well built with the tower ahead and the bridge in FG with people walking. I saw this curious red pavement once in USA, in some highways.
take care
