Photographer's Note

I've shown this to a few people, and here are the thoughts on what the silhouette might be of:
1. a tree... not very imaginative, but fair enough
2. Buddha... ;)
3. a hat... CORRECT!

Yeah, so, I went to York with some Japanese friends just over a week ago. I had a great time - York has great architecture, an interesting history, and I enjoyed time with NIHONJIN. ;)

The sun began to set very early though, at about 4pm. Places began to close, so our time touring the city was cut prematurely short. We decided to go around the wall that surrounds York, while we still could.

The sun was setting heavily which became quite beautiful. I was walking behind my friend and took this, with her hat making up the horizon of the photograph, simply because it seemed fun to do.

(This is my first post to TrekEarth for a long time... I am studying Japanese at University. This is very enjoyable, but also very hard work and time consuming. I simply couldn't find the time to come back to TrekEarth, but some comments recently have made me want to show I'm still alive. ;)
^_^ I am going to Japan next year! Well, actually this summer, for a year in Japan. I'll be using TrekEarth and my Fotolog as places to record my experiences in Japan. ^__^
So, good luck for my exams then. :P GANBARIMASU!)

Boring Technical Stuff: Adjusted contrast and levels to black out the horizon, and complete the silhouette effect. Straightened slightly, and resized for TrekEarth.
