Photographer's Note

In 2003 i saw a lot of these beautiful abbeys in the uk.
This abbey was founded in AD657 on the site of what may previously have been a Roman signal station.
It was destroyed during a Viking invasion in AD867, but one of William the Conqueror’s knights revived it in the late 1070s.

The sky was very colourless when i visited, and therefore chose this B+W version.

Tue, nels, feather has marked this note useful
