Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

This is much better if seen in the large format.

I'm sure many people will immediately recognise this location!

We are looking at a scene, taken from about half way down the famous steps, at Whitby!

Although these steps have been featured many times on TE, none is exactly the same. Because there are 199 steps and because the line of the steps has twists and turns, the view from each of the steps can give a slightly different aspect.

The steep steps link together the pretty, quaint houses at the bottom, with the church of St Mary's and the ruined abbey at the top.
Whitby Abbey is well known as the inspirational setting for Dracula, in the Bram Stoker novel.

Whitby is a wonderful place for photography. The buildings are eclectic and views inspirational.

Thanks for your interest, Bev :-)
