Photographer's Note

Nature can be strong and cause some serious damage with tornadoes, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. But it can be also fragile as we realise more and more exposing our planet to our excessive waste. Life is so easy to destroy. You can step on an insect and it will be its end. But life can be also strong and persistent. I see it in my garden. In places like patio: plants find every tiny bit of soil and grow again and again. The lawn on the other hand it so hard to maintain, it may dry out or be taken over by moss or weeds. In the end I think the nature will always find the way. We people may destroy ourselves and take down many beautiful species with us, but after us the nature and life will recover, re-start from the beginning. These trees made me think about the persistence of life. They appear as if they were trying to grab as much soil and as much sky as possible.

This photo was taken on a hike along Swaledale in Yorkshire Dales National Park.
