Photographer's Note

Hi Everyone,

This photo is from the opening ceremony for the Infinity Bridge in Stockton. The foot bridge has taken 18 months to construct at a cost of 15 million and spans the river Tees, connecting the south shore to the north shore.

The event was spectacular to watch with special lighting in place to illuminate the whole bridge in different colour phases. There were also 'Runners' who scaled the arches and lit flares at the top followed by a firework display.

for shooting the display I used an exposure time of 8 seconds to make sure I caught some firework trails, this means I had to adjust my f-stop to f10 to gain the right exposure. As always when shooting scenes involving fireworks, it can be a bit 'hit and miss' as to whether you capture a good image so the advice I would offer is to take LOTS of photos.

Thanks for looking,
