Photographer's Note

Taken this morning along the banks of the seacut in Scarborough. Ringlets are a widespread species in the UK on the wing between July and August and found in colonies of variable size. Their habitat is tall lush grassland particularly around scrub and hedgerows and both sexes feed on bramble and thistle flowers.Ringlets seem to be having a good year in our area, we saw in excess of fifty on our short walk.

Picture is cropped and sharpened (USM 17%).
