Fuming sea, a photo from North Yorkshire, England

Photographer's Note

Last night I have visited Saltburn-by-the-Sea at the blue hour again. Previously I looked down to the beach from a cliff. This time I went to look for photo opportunities at the sea level. In addition to the lovely old pier, another recognizable feature of the village is the characteristic shape of the cliff in the distance. I attempted to combine these two elements together. It was a high tide and the waves on the sea were high. I think I will return there someday when the tide at the blue hour gets low. I hope you have a healthy Easter.

Hello Mariusz,
The pier of Saltburn-by-the-Sea has enormous possibilities for wonderful photos from all possible angles.
I understand your passion for this place.
The pebbles on the beach provide a nice colour contrast to the sea and the sky.
In the distance we indeed find a high and impressive cliff.
Excellent composition!
I suppose Saltburn-by-the-Sea is relatively close to your home ... Or do you cover a considerable distance each time?

A fantastic night view of the pier and dark cliffs behind it. The silky surface of the sea looks great as well and I really like the warm light in the foreground and the deep blue backdrop.

Pieknie uchwycone kolory, niebo ciemnoniebieskie o zmierzchu, oswietlone molo, a na pierwszym planie ta zolta plaza, domyslam sie oswietlona przez lampy aa brzegu? To polaczenie, oraz dlugi czas naswietlania dalo super efekt. Swietnie wybrany moment kiedy fala dochodzi prawie do brzgu kadru ale zostawia odkryte kamyczki w rogu.

Great contrasting tones from the near seashore-gravel stones in brown and yellow, to the different blyue colors on far backdrop, divided by white foam under the pier, Mariusz.

This is almost like an abstract photograph, with emphasis on colours and shapes.
It's the sort of photograph that you can look at, and look at again, and see something different.

The long exposure works well and I really like the golden stones as a contrast to the blue. A very nice blue hour image, can't wait for you to return.

Hello Mariusz, like Beverley, I thought how close this scene was to being an abstract picture.
You have managed to get sharp focus on the pebbles and yet the sea is quite milky and smooth.
The pier puts the scene into context and with the distinctive cliff in the background.

The light foggy under the pier makes your picture very nice
