Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This is Salford Quay, a place to which I love to return, for it has wonderful features to photograph which change with the light and the season.

The weather was dull when I was there to take this shot but it still produced a 'mood'.

My photograph is an upwards view of the lift bridge or Salford Quays Millennium footbridge. It was designed by Carlos Fernandez Casado, is 91.2-metre long and spans the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The bridge, which was completed in 2000, is near the terminus of the ship canal at the old Manchester Docks. It links Salford Quays to Media City UK and has a lift of 18 metres, allowing large watercraft to pass beneath.

If you should ever watch 'BBC North West Tonight' television news programme, you will be able to see a different angle on this bridge, for it is the backdrop for the programme.

I hope you have a lovely day and thanks for your interest, Bev :-)
