Southwark bridge, a photo from London, England

Photographer's Note

Dear friends,
I present here a photograph of Southwark Bridge.. one of a number of bridges that cross the Thames in the city of London - I intend to also photograph at least some of the others too.

I found the lighting here a bit challenging. You may notice the prescence of warm orange/amber lights as well as those cooler but much harsher bluish-white spot-lights.
The white lights presented a few hick-ups initially.. I eventually settled on exposure settings as follows:

Shutter: 4.0 secs. Aperture: F/11. ISO 160.

On TL I have posted a slightly wider-angled capture.

Hi Daniel, another fabulous night shot. The detail is crystal clear and the POV is excellent. I've rarely seen such bright colours in a night shot. I recently went out to take some night shots and the results were very disappointing. Your work has spurred me on to have another go. Best regards, Roberto

Yo Daniel!

Really nice stylised colours, really rich and clear.. you've found a nice balance of the white illumination and the tones of the greens. It's interesting composition and I like how the right side of the frame fades to black.

Hi Daniel,
the pov is very well chosen here and the compo is also great because thanks to the close-up we can admire very well the arcitectural details of the bridge ans have at the same time a good perspective on its lenght. The building included on the right anchores the whole pic perfectly.

I like repeating steel beams under difficult light conditions in night. Street lights and green curves are creating wonderful texture.
