I mentioned before that I would like to visit more Christmas Markets in the UK and my wish was unexpectedly granted! Here you are: a fresh Christmas Market photo taken in front of the National Gallery at the Trafalgar Square in London. Some of you told me that they find Christmas Markets boring. I know what you mean, they were boring to me for the most of my life. I changed my attitude to them in Germany, when a local friend of ours, Tina, showed me a whole different view of them. She explained us the interesting stories behind some sweeties, and she led us through various mulled wine subtleties. I learned there that going from one Christmas Market to another may be fun. I don’t know enough about London but during my brief stay there I came across two Christmas Markets, one at the Trafalgar Square (in this photo) and another at Leicester Square. This made me think that there maybe even more of them across the city.

Hello Mariusz,

I like Christmas markets, but two year after each other are visit very limited through corona in Belgium
Not easy to make this picture but very successful.
Pleasant to look at.

Attractive illuminations on blue hour in london, but i see few people taken the advantage and went out in the cold evening.
Long shutter, thus we see several "ghosts" stroll around...

Hello Mariusz, I have reservations about Christmas markets.
This is a well composed shot with the National Gallery a great background for the huts bedecked with lights.
Taken just as the blue hour is beginning; the shot has a good atmosphere.

Hello Mariusz,
This year many Christmas markets in Belgium have already had to close due to the risk of corona infections. Mainly because of the more contagious omikron variant. That variant is even more widespread in the UK than in Belgium. However, that does not seem to affect official decision-making where you live.
These Christmas stalls are nicely lined with many lights and almost all lights shine in a star shape.
Excellent perspective. Great blue hour shot!

A superb blur hour shot with the yellow illuminated market stalls adding a nice warm cold colour contrast again the dark blue sky. Good colour, sharpness, lighting and perspective. Tfs!

I would like to visit more
Christmas Markets but because
of covid 19 this was impossible...
thanks for this photo with hundred
of lights shining into the darkness...
this atmosphere will come to its
end unfortunately but we will
keep our hope for better days

I crossed this area in september.
you got a special angle to include the lights and the blue sky in the architecture of the square. here we don't have such markets.

A beautiful Christmas composition with this bright Market, an ideal perspective with the monumental view of the place, magnifies this blue hour.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.
Good management, both of brightness and sharpness.

Bardzo pieknie uchwyona atmosfera tych bajkowych swiat. Bozonarodzeniowy jarmark, londynska architektura w tle i jeszcze te swiatla, chyba rowerowe, na pierwszym planie.
Ale najbardziej podobaja mi sie swiatelka jak gwiazdki. :-)
