Photographer's Note

Here's an Oliver Cromwell statue outside the houses of Parliament. He is one of the most controversial figures in British history. He signed the death warrant of Charles the 1st and took charge of England after the English civil war (1641-1652) between the Protestant 'Roundheads' & the Catholic Monarchists (Cavaliers). When Charles the 2nd (son of Charles 1st) came to the throne in 1660 and replaced the regicidal, military dictator Cromwell, he had Oliver's body dug up, chained and beheaded.

I might add Richard the Lionheart as a workshop.
